The president Roy Ratclife brought the meeting to order. First order of business was discussion on the breeders futurity. Lack of participation was noted this year, along with a lack of sales from the stallion auction. There is a lot of work for mare and foal nominations, and there seems to be problems every year with misunderstandings on mare nominations, when foals should be nominated by, and what stallions get qualify. Bonnie Powell made a motion to end the breeders futurity with the 2008 year, Darren Fultz seconded, and the motion carried. This will not affect the Open futurity, or the all breed jackpot classes.

January 5th was the date tentatively set for the year end awards, but this may be moved to March. More time is needed to order year end awards, and there was discussion on getting input from the members at the September show on what they would like to see for year end awards. Options discussed included calling each year end award recipient, and/or having 3 items and allowing them to choose one.

A big thanks goes out to all the members who have come and participated at the shows this year. The September 8th and 9th show will have a photographer on hand for pictures.
